The Top 5 Features That Have Been Deleted From The Minecraft 1.18 Caves & Cliffs Part 2 Update

At Minecraft Live 2021, Mojang surprised viewers with loads of announcements and reveals. The next major game update, The Wild Update, will be coming out in 2022.

Though Mojang announced the Minecraft 1.19 update, the Caves and Cliffs Part 2 update is yet to be released. At last year's live event, Mojang probably bit off more than they could chew. Minecraft developers had to split the update into two parts to deliver all the announced features.

Mojang is still delaying features by shifting them to The Wild Update, even after the split. This page highlights some of the features that were deleted from the Minecraft 1.18 release.

1- Archeology

Mojang featured archeology in the Minecraft Caves and Cliffs update last year. It was relocated to the second half of the update after the split. Unfortunately, developers indicated a few months ago that archeology will be incorporated in a future release.

This is perhaps for the best, as many players think that the archeology exhibited at Minecraft Live 2020 was incomplete and far from what it should have been. Mojang may include archeology in The Wild Update, although there is no confirmation as of yet.

2- Sculk Sensor

Sculk sensors are currently accessible through commands, however, they will not be generated automatically with the 1.18 release. Sculk sensor and other sculk bricks will be included in Minecraft's The Wild Update.

Players will be able to farm sculk sensors with sculk catalysts after The Wild Update is published. Sculk sensors are Redstone components that sense vibrations and generate Redstone signals in response.

3- Goat Horns

Unfortunately, Minecraft 1.18 will not include goat horns for aficionados of the game's renowned goats. While the horns are currently present in Bedrock Edition, they do not yet have specific usage. Players may make the pillager raid sound with goat horns, but it serves no other use.

Goat horns will not be included in the Caves and Cliffs Part 2 update, according to Minecraft creator Ulraf. It is expected to be included in The Wild Update, although no confirmation has been provided.

2- Bundles

Bundles will be game-changers for early-game gamers. Unfortunately, they will not be included in the Minecraft 1.18 release. Ulf has stated that bundles would be included in a future update, maybe alongside the goat horns. Bundles, like goat horns, may still be obtained by game instructions.

1- The Warden

Mojang officially revealed at Minecraft Live 2021 that the deep dark cave biomes would be included in The Wild Update, not Caves and Cliffs Part 2. The Warden mob, as well as all deep dark cave elements, are now included in the 1.19 release. At the very least, the scary Warden will not be present in the 1.18 patch.

The wait will be well worth it, as Mojang revealed a new peak at the impending deep dark tunnels, which will feature ancient towns, new sculk blocks, and much more.
